lyrics

Dear Father

You think I don't like to involve in politics
Thats because you have abused power and called it politics
You think I am not interested in the news
Talkshows, newspapers, so I am not current
Yes I prefer my information undiluted
You think I do not go to church
I am not commited to religion like you
Yes I prefer to single handedly study
Know understand and be the word
So your believes don't get to me but his
I am the church, I am the miracle
You say I don't care my payee
For I castigate, help negate, devaluate in my eye
And that of others
Why would I even border to write this letter
If nobi love

Father
So what If I hatchtag all thing
Use shorthand
Can't you understand that tradition connects me to the past
And creativity and innovation links me to the future
So I have migrated from looking at where I have been
To looking at where I can be
Rather that knowing a lot about a little
I prefer to know a little about alot
So I can fit in any sphere
That's why I create and do business online
Make profits and staying at home
I am working and doing more with....
For less and I am not lazy
And yes I have apps that i use to pay my bills
Buy stuffs, I even have apps that helps me find a life partner
Which to you na total madness
Thats why you get complaining about children on nowadays
Criticizing my generation
Calling us android advicing us to go the farm
We are the lost generation
For you can't stop blaming us for finding something to do
Whether its posting pictures on social media showing our nakedness
Or alcohol aptitude or smoking muscles
But you raised us
So you either accepts us or reject us
But there is no way you are going to make us understand
With the manner in which you address us
Though you keep telling to look off our small screen and machines
Just for us to look up and see you looking down on us

Guess what
The world is no longer yours
We took a piece and created our own so it ours
Now we question everything with a why before we do
So we do not care which tribe he|she comes from
We believe in ubuntu, respect for humanity
Whenerever things do not make sense we question the rules
For we believe the rules are meant to be broken
So we will rather watch tv shows, documentaries
Than that propaganda you call the news

You can't blame us for demanding to learn something
We can apply in real life in schools
Thing like how to give intelligence to our emotions
Laws can be bent without being unethical
I mean growing up
We were thought faced with a challenge
We either fight or flight
But we the android generation are learning to synergize
For we now know
The whole is greater that the sum of its parts

We are taking over and these are our demands
Not that you leave for us
Exhorbitant houses, cash and wealth
But that you listen
For even though we grew up in different generations
We are facing thesame challenges
Disguised in different situations.
Instead of saying I was once like you
And I know what you must do
Sit down and think
Is that the kind of reasoning
A younger version of you will respond to

I need you to sit at the far end and see
We are not that different
What if I replace laptops with books
Encyclopedia with hardcopy dictionaries
emails with letters
android with ledgers
Google with all the wise men you knew growing up
What if I replace
Paul Biya with Amadou Ahidjo
Daphney, Rinyu, Vernyuy with Grace Decca
Salatiel with Willy Nfor Francis Ndom
Then may be you will undersatnd our way of thinking
For in todays generation
There is the positive and the negative
Plus, minus
But just may be if you focus on our multiple successes
We will not be that divided

Is my generation worse
Yes Lets be honest
But let he without sin cast the first stone
Give us the opportunity to grow
For it takes time for a caterpillar to blossom into a butter fly
We are the android generation and these are our demands
Listen and learn to trust us before you judge us
Before criticising us
Remember
You raised us
